Amber Silk: A Seasonal CMF Story Creating Amber Silk was a collaboration between Dyson's CMF (Color, Material, Finish) designers and engineers - a process that blends natural inspiration with technical precision. The team is constantly researching how color emerges naturally in our surroundings, and in the case of Amber Silk, their research took place close to home: the Dyson farms in Lincolnshire, England.

Never miss another deal, event or post as we count down to Christmas 2025!

Amber Silk draws from the pigments found in autumn leaves – yellow flavonols, orange carotenoids, and red/purple anthocyanins - which work together to protect the leaf and signal seasonal change.

To determine the precise hues of the Amber Silk colorway, Dyson's CMF designers delved into the psychology of these colors. What does a physical marker of seasonal change mean to someone personally? How can color awaken a memory or feeling?

The design team explored the sensory cues of the festive period: the warmth of candlelight, the glow of copper cookware, the richness of spiced wine, and the sparkle of a champagne toast.

From hundreds of tonal studies, three hues were selected for their balance and harmony, tying together the comforting tones of the Dyson farming leaves and the inviting vibrancy of the festive season: pale pink champagne, warm copper, and toasty burgundy. These tones were then tested under different lighting conditions - from the soft glow of winter mornings to the sparkle of Christmas evenings - to ensure they would shimmer and shift beautifully in any setting.

The finish was achieved through a metallic coating process that enhances color depth while ensuring long-lasting durability. Every curve of each Dyson tool was considered to optimize light reflection, giving Amber Silk its signature luster. The result is a CMF design that is as technically robust as it is seasonally expressive, making Amber Silk the true colorway of the season.

Survey: Shoppers Choose Real Christmas Trees for the Scent, the Experience, and the Joy

85% of survey respondents agree that real Christmas trees bring joy to everyone who sees and smells them.

HOWELL, Mich., Oct. 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- A new survey1 from the Real Christmas Tree Board unwraps what inspires people to choose a real Christmas tree and what "newcomers" to the magic of a real Christmas tree – as well as returning buyers – can expect as they bring one home this holiday season.

"This year's survey shows that people treasure the unmistakable scent and the entire experience that comes with a real Christmas tree," said Marsha Gray, executive director of the Real Christmas Tree Board. "Whether it's a cherished tradition or you're eager to try something new, shoppers can look forward to the delight of finding their perfect real Christmas tree."

Scent and experience bring joy

In this year's survey, 85% of respondents indicate that real Christmas trees bring joy to everyone

who sees and smells them. In fact, the scent of a real Christmas tree tops the list as a reason to choose the real thing this year. Unified by the season-defining scent of Christmas trees, the majority of survey respondents indicate the scent of a real Christmas tree makes their home feel festive (89%), enhances their holiday experience (85%) and is relaxing (84%).

Plus, a real Christmas tree is more than just a decoration. It's an opportunity to have an experience with loved ones. In fact, respondents ranked "making memories with my family" as the second most appealing reason to have a real Christmas tree, right after scent.

As always, there's a real Christmas tree for everyone who wants one

Last year, 98% of survey respondents found a tree they loved, and 91% reported no problem locating a place nearby to purchase their tree.2 Consumers can expect plenty of choices this year as well.

Additionally, according to the board's grower survey released last month3, 84% of growers said they do not plan to raise wholesale prices, including those who may lower them. While the price that a consumer will pay varies and is set by retailers, 90% of respondents who purchased a real Christmas tree last year said the price they paid was worth it.2

Gray is thrilled that shoppers continue to have a great retail experience, adding: "Given the strong supply, and many convenient locations to shop, it's a wonderful time to make a real Christmas tree part of your family's holiday tradition."

The joy is worth the switch

Those considering a real Christmas tree for the first time this year can be encouraged by the positively twinkling survey responses from those who made the switch last year.

Nearly all who switched said they enjoyed the experience, and almost nine in 10 wished they had made the switch to a real Christmas tree sooner. In addition, 90% said they hope their children will continue to experience the joy of having a real tree for years to come.

As for what's motivating first-time buyers this year, the top reasons include wanting to try something different (42%), the desire to create a more authentic holiday experience (37%), and real trees providing a unique scent that they enjoy (36%).

The switch is safe for the environment

Never miss another deal, event or post as we count down to Christmas 2025!

Just like pumpkins for Halloween, real Christmas trees are grown to be harvested, and they're 100% recyclable and biodegradable.

"Those who are new to real Christmas trees can be assured that they are a sustainable crop, backed by generations of committed farmers," said Gray. "Growers are stewards of their land, and for every tree harvested, they plant at least one new tree."

Convenient ways to shop and learn more

Real Christmas trees are available nationwide at choose-and-cut farms, seasonal lots, garden centers, home improvement stores, and other local retailers. Shoppers are encouraged to check in advance with their preferred retailer for hours, pricing, and tree species availability. They can start their search by visiting RealChristmasTrees.com for a special retail locator, a guide to the different kinds of real Christmas trees, care tips, and more.

E-Commerce Delivery Platform Veho Announces Increased Capacity in 15 Markets Ahead of Peak Shopping Season

Parcel Sortation and Delivery Capacity Expanded in Hub and Spoke Facilities, including Philadelphia, Newark, Hartford, Atlanta, Chicago, Richmond, Dallas, Houston, Boston, South Florida, Tampa, Northern Virginia, Louisville and more

Expanded Capacity to Launch Ahead of Peak and Support 2026 Expansion

NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Veho, the most customer-centric parcel delivery platform in the U.S., today announced it has expanded its parcel handling capacity by over 50% in some of its largest markets ahead of the Peak holiday shopping season, ensuring it can meet e-commerce shippers' needs during their most important time of year.

E-commerce brands make on average 30% of their revenue during the approximately 29 day "Peak" shopping season between Thanksgiving and Christmas, during which delivery volume increases by approximately 40%. Last year was the busiest Peak ever, with 2 billion parcels delivered. Famously, this sharp increase in demand for deliveries, and the increased importance of on-time-delivery ahead of the holidays, puts tremendous pressure on shipping companies – with some legacy providers often reaching breaking points.

Veho, whose tech and logistics platform is designed specifically for e-commerce brands focused on reliability, customer experience and competitive cost, is ensuring it has the capacity to scale and meet consumer demand during Peak. Central to these efforts is increasing the size and capability of its own facilities, as well as launching new distribution centers through partnerships.

Veho has increased the capacity of its existing Philadelphia, PA and Indianapolis, IN regional hubs by a combined over 50,000 square feet, opened a new 150,000 square foot hub outside Atlanta, GA, and is increasing its capacity by 50-100% in markets nationwide through reorganizing or expanding its own facilities or by working with third party logistics providers. Those markets include Newark, NJ; Hartford, CT; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; Chicago, IL; Dallas and Houston, TX: Tampa and South Florida; Richmond and Northern Virginia; Louisville, KY; and Greensboro, NC. Through this expansion, Veho will now have a second distribution center in over 10 of the markets in which it operates.

Through partnerships with 3PLs, Veho is increasing its Peak and go-forward parcel handling capacity in those markets by over 50% with major benefits network-wide. Photos and videos of Veho's facilities and technology can be accessed here.

Veho is ensuring consistent processes, procedures, reliability, parcel tracking, and quality control through purpose-built warehouse management technology it has engineered and is using at all Veho- and partner-managed facilities.

Never miss another deal, event or post as we count down to Christmas 2025!

While these facilities are being expanded or launched in advance of the Peak shopping season, almost all are anticipated to remain part of Veho's network in anticipation of continued national growth and rapid geographic expansion in 2026.

"One of the hardest things in the logistics business is ensuring you always have enough capacity to meet shippers' demands, without having so much you become inefficient," said Veho's SVP of Operations Albert Silva. "The volume of parcels flowing through Veho has doubled year-to-date, and can be expected to grow even more during the three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are expanding our existing facilities and launching over 10 new ones–all with flexible staffing models–to ensure we can meet shippers' needs in a cost-effective way."

The importance of flexibility, technology and partnerships in providing a great delivery experience was also a major theme in just-released research by Supply Chain Dive and Veho. In a survey of 150 e-commerce brands, the study found that "fast delivery and quality are no longer trade-offs—they have to go hand in hand," and that "customers only believe a delivery promise if it's backed by visibility and accuracy." The study concluded that brands investing in smarter networks and stronger partnerships "will be able to tackle the challenges of Peak and emerge positioned for even more growth."

Travelers Searching Earlier for 2025 Holiday Flights

According to new Going data, Americans are searching more than two weeks earlier for holiday flights, and the best days to travel vary by region

NEW YORK, Sept. 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Americans are rethinking when to book holiday flights. New data from Going reveals that travelers are searching for Thanksgiving and Christmas airfare more than two weeks earlier than last year as they look to stretch budgets during a pricey upcoming holiday season. The research also uncovered the cheapest travel days differ by region, challenging the long-held idea that there's a single best day for savings.

While departing on Christmas  itself can save 15 to 30 percent, certain destinations across the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and West Coast may find varying dates have better opportunities for cheaper prices (PRNewsfoto/Going)

While departing on Thanksgiving itself can save 15 to 30 percent, certain destinations across the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and West Coast may find varying dates have better opportunities for cheaper prices (PRNewsfoto/Going)

"Wait too long to book and the only thing you'll be unwrapping is holiday stress, not savings," said Katy Nastro.

"Earlier this summer, travelers had their pick of affordable airfare. However, as we step into the next peak season, that same travel luck may have run its course," said Going travel expert Katy Nastro. "Prices are already higher than last year for the winter holidays, and with the economy top of mind for millions of Americans, it's no wonder we are seeing earlier search habits. Wait too long to book and the only thing you'll be unwrapping is holiday stress, not savings."

Key Findings:

Americans are searching earlier this year: For both Thanksgiving and Christmas, travelers are starting their searches earlier than they did in 2024 – 15 days earlier on average for each holiday.

The best days to fly vary by region: While departing on the holiday itself can save 15 to 30 percent, certain destinations may find varying dates have better opportunities for cheaper prices. For example, if traveling to the Southeast during Christmas, travelers can save 27 percent on average by departing on Dec. 24 versus any other date.

Prices are trending up, with domestic travel hitting wallets the hardest: U.S. Thanksgiving and winter holiday airfare averages are up ten percent and seven percent, respectively, this year. Average fares for Thanksgiving run $751 for domestic flights, while winter holidays come in at $685 roundtrip.

International Thanksgiving remains the best bet: Fares are down slightly at 1 percent year-over-year, averaging $1,241, with savings across select regions. In comparison, international fares over the winter holidays are up six percent year-over-year, averaging $1,740 roundtrip.

When to Fly

"Flying on the holiday itself continues to be the best bang for your buck when it comes to holiday travel. However, it's not the only option for savings. Depending on where flyers are heading this year, just shifting their dates by as little as one day before the holiday can help save up to 19 percent, which can add up for families. If travelers are heading further afield or want to squeeze a bit more time from the holiday, we suggest to target the second-best days which still can offer savings," said Nastro.

The most expensive departure dates are the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, with average one-way fares of $756, and the Saturday before Christmas, Dec. 20, at $905. For return trips, travelers should avoid the Sunday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 30, and the Saturday after Christmas, Dec. 27, when fares both average $850.

"What's better than a turkey dinner with all the trimmings? Not spending an arm and a turkey leg to get there," said Nastro. "For Thanksgiving, travelers should aim to book domestic trips ASAP, or latest by the end of the month. International flights have more leeway, so best to book by early October. For Christmas, the best fares are gone quickly, especially domestic flights this year with fewer low cost options. Travelers should get domestic trips booked by early October and international flights even sooner."

The Secret Best Week for International Travel

While most Americans focus on domestic trips, fares overseas quietly drop the week of Thanksgiving, making it one of the best times to travel abroad. Typically, international flights are among the most affordable during the end of November window, but this year we are seeing fares down 10 to 30 percent on average to destinations across Western Europe,Canada and Western Asia. To take advantage, Going members can set personalized in-app Flight Alerts to track routes and get notified of price drops. Recent Going roundtrip deals for the week of Thanksgiving include:

  • New York–London or Stockholm: $394 (51 percent off)
  • Los Angeles–Lisbon: $494 (45 percent off)
  • Cleveland or Hartford–Dublin: $438 and $409 (50 to 53 percent off)
  • Daytona Beach–Paris: $522 (49 percent off)

1 Year-over-year comparisons reflect Going sourced search activity during the same date range, July 1 through Sept. 16, in both 2024 and 2025

2 Going average fares are based on Going sourced searches for roundtrip tickets from November 24 to December 1, 2025 and December 22, 2025 to January 1, 2026 on full-service carriers only. This data excludes fares on Low Cost Carriers and Southwest Airlines.
